What do you see when you close your eyes? A light, a pattern, a thought, a dream?
My art is a practice I use process my world - the places, experiences, thoughts, dreams, and patterns dancing in my head to bring observers into my mind, into the process and thus into themselves.
Having grown up in a family of travellers and artists, I take my inspiration from the art that surrounds me – sculptures, abstract paintings, architecture, traditional costumes and textiles, carpets and folk art. The interaction of patterns of lines, shapes, and colors is always what captivates me. Through my art, I have found a way to interact with the world of images, and to engage in social, spiritual and mystical conversations.
My artwork is not only about the finished product - it's about the process – travelling, observing, finding inspiration, engaging with my subject, interpreting it through lines, colors and shapes, and expressing it on paper to share it with the world.
